We, the members of the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department, dedicate our efforts to protect the environment and the lives and property of the residents and visitors of our community.

 We will accomplish our mission by becoming increasingly knowledgeable and proficient in fire suppression, rescue and other related activities and by promoting fire prevention through public education.

 We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models and strive to effectively utilize all of the necessary resources available to provide a service deemed excellent by our citizens.

About Us

Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department is located in Grant County, Kentucky. The City of Williamstown is about 47 miles north of Lexington, Kentucky and 40 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio.

City close, country quiet; Williamstown is a rural Northern Kentucky bedroom community known for its quiet neighborhoods and proximity to major metropolitan cities. With excellent schools, many community groups, recreational and cultural activities, we offer something for the entire family."

Our fire department serves a population of about 7000 people in an area of approximately 61 square miles. Our district consist of urban, rural and farmland areas. We have a small business district located on Main Street with buildings dating back to the mid to late 1800s. There are about12 miles of railroad (Norfolk-Southern) and 9 miles of a major Interstate (I-75). We have a small industrial district (3 factories). Williamstown Lake
is a 350 acre recreational resource in our coverage area, that has 32 miles of shoreline with over 450 lake front propeties. 

Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department has a paid Chief and 28 active volunteer members. We respond to a wide range of fire and rescue related incidents and provide EMS 1st response for the local ambulance service. We have members trained in water rescue and haz-mat as well as search and rescue.
Recent Calls 

Elliston/Mt. Zion- Dry Ridge
On April 15th, Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department assisted Dry Ridge Fire Department with a Structure Fire at a single story residence on Elliston/ Mt. Zion Rd. Williamstown Fire provided a tanker shuttle as well as manpower. Crews were able to extinguish the fire and salvage property. The fire was contained to the roof and a bedroom.
